Critical Care Program- Fall 2010

Faxton-St. Luke’s EMS Education will be offering a Critical Care Class beginning Wednesday September 9, 2010- May 19, 2011.  The class will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM.  The instructor for this class will be Tony Salce.  If interested, please enroll online, or call our Registrar Bill at 624-4539.

Paramedic Program Cancellation

Due to inclement weather both Paramedic classes are canceled for today.  Our next class will be ACLS on Saturday February 27th at 9AM.  Due to this unforeseen change we will not be able to split the sessions on Saturday.  All students should plan to be there from 9AM-5PM per the original class schedule. MEDICAL PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE FOR BOMBING INCIDENTS

This course will address a medical response to blast effects for both first receivers and first responders.   The dates of the program will be March 2nd and 3rd, from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  There will be both a medical and operations track to the training. In cooperation with The New York State Office of Homeland Security, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) will be offering this course. This course will meet the 3 hour NYS requirement for WMD for CME candidates. There is NO fee for this course. This class has a maximum capacity of 30 people, so register early. Lifenet Ground School

A program will be offered to any interested providers at Herkimer County Community College, on October 1, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Mclaughlin Center. The program will be presented by Kyle Williams. A helicopter will be there, weather permitting.

Great American Irish Festival

The Annual Great America Irish Festival is being held once again at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds on July 24, 25, and 26.  Current NYS Certified EMT’s are needed and encouraged and willing to volunteer four-hour blocked shift(s).  Your sponsoring agency chief office must approve all participation.  Your return will be free admission to the event anytime when not volunteering.  Interested providers should contact Chief Charles Conigliaro of Frankfort Fire Department.  His number is 315-534-1742, 315-894-4320 or 315-894-2277.
