EMS has lost a Special Friend

It is with the deepest regret that the Midstate REMSCO announces the passing of long time member and previous chairman Stanley Lonchek.  Stanley has been active in EMS for nearly 50 years and will be missed by the entire EMS Community.  Calling hours for Stanley will be Sunday March 14, from 2-6pm at the Wilcox Funeral Home in West Winfield, the funeral will be Monday March 15 at 10am.  Our condolences go to Ann and family.

Policy Statement: Blood Glucometry for Basic Life Support Agencies

PCR’s

The Program Agency has recieved a supply of PCR’s from the DOH. PCR’s are now avalable at Resource or the Program Agency. These “new” PCR’s are not numbered. Agencies may choose to enter an Agency issued PCR number on this document.

Cardiac Care Presentation

Dr. James Longo a cardiologist from Crouse Irving will present; Cardiac A&P, Medications, Cardiac Emergencies and EKG’s at the Fayetteville Fire Department on Monday February 15 at 1000. This will be a great oppurtunity to discuss and review pre-hospital cardiac care. To register call 315 637-6101.

Fred Van Namee Retirement

Oneida County Director of Emergency Services, Fredric A. Van Namee will retire effective December 31, 2009. The EMS Community would like to thank Fred for his commitment to EMS. Our county EMS System has grown and improved during Fred’s tenure. A retirement party will be held on Friday January 22, 2010 at the Floyd Fire Hall 8367 Old Floyd Road, Floyd NY. Emergency Services H1N1 Clinic

The Oneida County Emergency Services H1N1 (Swine) Flu Clinic will be held tomorrow TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22,2009 0600-2100 at the EMS Office, 2521 Sunset Ave. Utica NY. This clinic is open to all Emergency Services Providers, Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue and EMS. No appointment necessary

Oneida County H1N1 Clinic

The Oneida County Health Department has announced an Oneida County H1N1 Clinic for Emergency Services Providers. The Point of Distribution (POD) will be conducted on Tuesday December 29, from 6AM to 9PM at the EMS Training Center 2521 Sunset Ave. Utica. No appointment needed and all Oneida County Emergency Service Providers are Welcome.

Public Hearing Cancelled

Due to weather conditions the Boonville Ambulance expansion of territory CON hearing scheduled for tonight(Dec 11) at the Forestport Fire Station has been cancelled. The Public Hearing will be held on Monday evening December 14 at 7PM at the Forestport Fire Station.

EMS Night at Syracuse Crunch

Tickets will be avaiable to those who pre-register. You will pick them up and pay at the “Will Call” window on game night. This is open to all EMS Providers and their families

H1N1 Flu Clinic

The Oneida County Health Dept announced today a H1N1 flu POD at the Public Health Clinic building at 406 Elizabeth Street Utica, tommorow Tuesday November 17 from 4:30 to 7:00pm. This is an adult POD and first responders will qualify for the vaccinations.
