Certified First Responder Original / Refresher

New York State Certified First Responders ‘make a difference’ every day. 

Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare will sponsor two Certified First Responder Programs

  • Program 1 Hosted by the North Brookfield Fire Dept will begin Monday March 5 and complete on Thursday June 21.  This program will run on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-9PM 

 

  • Program 2 Hosted by the Hubbardsville Fire Department will begin on Sunday March 11 and complete on Thursday June 21.  This program will run on Sundays from 830AM-1 PM

Looking for MIDSTATE UNSUNG HERO’s

Midstate providers, directors, hospital staff and all involved in Emergency Medical Services.  Last year we responded to over 40,000 requests for help.  From dispatch to discharge many are involved in the treatment and transportation of these patients.

The Midstate REMSCO and New York State Department of Health want to thank and recognize the extraordinary individuals and agencies involved in our system.  By completing and submitting the EMS Awards application at the top of this page YOU will be recognizing the exceptional care we provide to our communities every day.

Print and email completed forms to remsco@midstateems.org or fax to 315 738 8351.  Applications must be submitted by noon on May 7, 2018 for consideration.

Cancellation

The AEMT Class that starts at COCVAC will be canceled for 2/7/18.  The new start date will be Friday, 2/9/18. If you have any questions feel free to call our office at 315-738-8351.

2018 Online Core Content Program

2018   EMT-B  AEMT-CC and AEMT-P Online Core Content classes will start in March all sessions will be at the EMS Training Center 14 Foery Drive, Utica.  Each program will consist of two “in-person” sessions lasing about one hour each.  Ses sion one is a registration session and session tow is a wrap up session.  Candiadates must attend both sessions.  You may attend either day for session one or either day for session two.

Advanced EMT Program

Central Oneida County Ambulance will host an Advanced EMT class starting Wednesday February 7 ending on Thursday June 21.  The class will be held on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6-930PM, 7489 East South St. Clark Mills

Certified First Responder

Middleville Fire will host a First Responder class starting Monday Jan 29, this class will meet on Monday evenings from 6-10PM. Register on line at midstateems.org or call Bill 315 738 8351

Dextrose Shortage

Our region is starting to experience a shortage of IV infusion D10.  There is however a limited supply of D50 available until further notice if your agency can not get D10 for IV infusion it may substitute D50 for IV as a substitute in the protocol.  We will continued to monitor this shortage and keep all informed.

Daytime EMT Class

Herkimer County Community College will host a daytime EMT Original and Refresher Class starting Jan 23, 2018 the class will test on May 17, 2018.  Classes will be Tuesday and Thursday 8 AM to 1230 PM occasion Stauday sessions register at midstateems.org or call Bill 315 738 8351

Sunday Basic EMT Original and Refresher

Starting Sunday January 14, 2018 and finishing with the state certification exam on Thursday June 21, 2018.  This Sunday class will be hosted at the EMS Training Center 14 Foery Drive Utica NY.
